EN: From a few years ago I have been strongly drawn to the late 60’s fashion. The famous mini skirt and mini dress that nowadays we cannot imagine our closets without are just some of the products of that powerful movement. I think the reason why we are fascinated with it is in its genuine strength and courage to break the conservative rules of 50’s and introduce totally new shapes of clothes that was never worn before but truly fitted many women’s view of themselves.

I drafted the pattern for this apron dress myself. It is inspired by the A-line mini dresses from late 60’s. The ambiguous shape of not-a-skirt-but-still-not-a-dress opens a lot of space to mix and match with other clothes and accessories for making fun and creative outfits, which was one of the main ideas of that time. Also, the mysterious and a bit psychedelic print sparks a various range of emotions and associations.

I love how this dress accentuates the beauty of woman’s body, while, at the same time, resembles the girly shape of dresses. And that is kind of what 60’s fashion did. Paradoxically, it allowed women to show their skin more than ever before with androgyny or child-like patterns of clothes that were so different from the classy dress of 50’s, proving that the femininity can be celebrated in very different ways.

The same as probably many young women at that time, I feel like the fashion of this era is a perfect match for my mid 20’s and my view of myself at this age. Although I really love more conservative and formal clothes, I just don’t feel like wearing it a lot now, as I know I will wear it much more throughout my future life. Late 60’s inspired clothes just feel right for a transition phase when you are not a girl anymore but still not a real adult, if you understand what I mean.

The top is made by me, too, and it’s also in a mood of 60’s and 70’s.

How do you feel about late 60’s fashion?

SR: Od pre nekoliko godina veoma me privlači moda kasnih 60-tih.

Takođe, misteriozan i malo psihodeličan dezen podstiče veliki spektar emocija i asocijacija.

Top sam takođe ja napravila i on je isto u fazonu 60-tih i 70-tih.

Da li i vi volite modu kasnih 60-tih?
