SR: Zdravo svima!

I am very happy that in this post I can finally introduce you to Natasha, my dear friend and companion in sewing adventures. It’s very inspiring to have someone close to you with whom you share the same passion and not only because of the mutual encouragement, support and exchange of experience, but also cause some of the things people that don’t sew just cannot understand. For example, why do we give our last penny on a new fabric, though of course we haven’t  used up all the previous ones (some of us are not even close :); why is it so crucial to sew a new dress for an event, and even more why we’re doing that in the moment when we should do our make-up for it. Also, only people who sew know that the pins actually cannot kill anyone, and that really isn’t dangerous to have them all over the floor. They also know how difficult it is to convince the family in that. And, of course, only those who sew know that feeling when you cut off the last thread of the just-sewn clothing item and when you wear it for the first time. It is so precious to have someone to whom you don’t have to explain all of that.

We both sewed the satin bomber jacket, and I’ll show you mine next time. They were not designed by us – we used the same pattern from Burda magazine. The two of us obviously joined the bomber jacket obsession that is going on this season. Originally, bomber jacket was made for aviators to protect them from the wind, because the airplanes didn’t initially have covered cockpit. That explains its name, of course. During the 60’s scooter boys and skinheads started to wear them and today we make them in satin, in a variety of colors and wear them with skirts and dresses. The power of transformation and adaptation is the secret of duration and big comebacks of the former (fashion) trends.

Natasha styled her jacket in this beautiful color with the mesh pencil skirt that is also sewn by her, making a perfect combination of sporty and urban feminine style, which really attracts attention. Dear Natasha, thank you for posing and being my guest on the blog. Next time you’ll see the same design done my way … Thank you for your attention!
