EN: To welcome the spring I sewed this dark green skirt of a beautiful, heavy cotton that falls nicely and which I wanted  to use before I move on to some brighter and lighter materials. I love the depth of this color, although I don’t like to wear it myself. The pleats are a permanently present element of my creations, and here they are united with my recent obsession with wrap skirts. So, this is the pleated wrap skirt, that allows easy adjustments in a waist. I am so happy that I had the opportunity to photograph this beautiful girl, whose beauty and naturalness inspire and remind me how much I would like to be engaged in photography. Thanks, Jelena… :) Anyway, enjoy the spring, and expect this skirt to appear soon in my store.

horizontal, vertical and diagonal

EN: Everything that man creates is based on the rules of horizontal, vertical and diagonal. It’s his way to regulate the world around him, to comprehend it and adapt. Through the prism of his mind, irregular forms transform into the straight lines. Man feels so secure in that process that he can confidently build buildings and bridges, streets and stairs…  Within indifferent and unpredictable nature, lines serve to a man as his coordinates, thanks to which he has at least the illusion that he can manage the world. But then, he silently gazes in awe at irregular but perfect forms of nature, as they are something incomprehensible. And when he finds in nature perfectly geometrically shaped forms, he wonders how it is possible that such a thing occurred totally independently of him, and he imagines that something like that had to be created by some mind,  bigger than his, of course, but the similar mind to his… Straight lines are the foundation of not only the science, but also art.. They are the basis of the perspective of paintings, figures and architecture, composition of literary works, dance etc. But when man needs to express something “irregular”, something beyond reason, something that is totally of different quality, he is struggling – always leaving only straight lines … or silence. Is it possible for a man to comprehend “incorrect”, and if so, can he express it? Is the mastery of man’s horizontals, verticals and diagonals his power beneath which are hidden the weakness and imperfection? Probably ..But it’s his way to value himself, to enjoy his work, and to give some kind of meaning to his existence on this planet.

However, the perfect proportion of horizontal and vertical lines form the basis of every plaid print, which makes it so desirable in its (im)perfection. I wanted to complete the impression, to achieve the diagonal, too, so I made a wrap skirt. To me it represents the whole human activity in small, with all its achievements and failures, with all its perfections and imperfections.
