dark green spring

EN: To welcome the spring I sewed this dark green skirt of a beautiful, heavy cotton that falls nicely and which I wanted  to use before I move on to some brighter and lighter materials. I love the depth of this color, although I don’t like to wear it myself. The pleats are a permanently present element of my creations, and here they are united with my recent obsession with wrap skirts. So, this is the pleated wrap skirt, that allows easy adjustments in a waist. I am so happy that I had the opportunity to photograph this beautiful girl, whose beauty and naturalness inspire and remind me how much I would like to be engaged in photography. SR: U susret proleću sam sašila ovu tamno zelenu suknju od divnog, teškog pamuka koji lepo pada i koji sam želela da iskoristim pre nego što pređem na neke svetlije i laganije materijale. Volim dubinu ove boje, iako ne volim da je nosim na sebi. Falte su element koji je večito prisutan na mojim kreacijama, a ovde su ujedinjene i sa mojom skorašnjom opsesijom suknjama na preklom. Dakle, ovo je suknja na falte na preklop, koji, naravno, omogućava laka podešavanja u skladu sa širinom struka. Srećna sam što sam imala priliku da fotografišem ovu divnu devojku, čija lepota i prirodnost inspirišu i podsećaju me na to koliko bih volela da se više bavim fotografijom. Hvala, Jeco…:) U svakom slučaju, uživajte u proleću, a ova suknja će se uskoro pojaviti u mojoj prodavnici.

EN: Inspiration is all around us. In the morning sun, in a warm spring night, in the smiles, someone’s blue eyes, the gap between the teeth … in the known and unknown sounds, in different forms and shapes by which our eyes are trapped, in the music that inexplicably penetrates our soul, in particular order of words, in the ideas, ideals, dreams, fantasies … in the people with their destinies in perpetual efforts, wishes, and endeavor to sculpt the masterpiece of their life …, in feelings, experiences, thoughts, in the rational and irrational, in the sense of the existence of something behind everything visible … in the existence itself … Inspiration is everywhere. Everyone has a list of things that excite him, but the inspiration that man draws from those phenomena is never reserved or selfish – it’s always expanding and flowing outside of the being, enabling a new source of inspiration for another being. One only needs to open himself and be sensitive enough, and he’ll be flooded with inspiration: the desire to fulfill his day, to make someone’s day more beautiful, to create something, to work persistently, to laugh more, to love more … to live. We just must not forget how small and accessible are the things that delight us and make us happier.

I sewed this skirt because the pattern of the tartan lines excites me, which I allready wrote (here and here). The hairstyle is inspired by an incredibly talented singer of FKA Twigs, which radiates a fresh, mesmerizing energy.

SR: Inspiracija je svuda oko nas. U jutarnjem suncu, toploj prolećnoj noći, u osmesima, u plavetnilu nečijih očiju, razmaku između zuba… u poznatim i nepoznatim zvukovima, u različitim formama i oblicima o koje naše oči zapinju, u muzici koja neobjašnjivo prodire u našu dušu, u posebnom rasporedu reči, u idejama, idealima, snovima, sanjarijama…u ljudima sa njihovim sudbinama u večitim nastojanjima, željama, u pregalačkom trudu i radu na klesanju remek-dela svog života…, u osećajima, doživljajima, mislima, racionalnom i iracionalnom, u osećanju postojanja nečeg iza svega vidljivog… u samom postojanju uopšte… Svuda je inspiracija. Svako ima svoju listu stvari koje ga uzbuđuju, ali inspiracija koju čovek crpi iz tih pojava nikad nije zatvorena, sebična, već se uvek širi i  preliva van bića, stvarajući višak koji će nekom drugom biću biti nov izvor inspiracije. Treba samo sebe otvoriti i biti dovoljno osetljiv, i bićemo preplavljeni inpiracijom – željom da ispunimo današnji dan, da nekom učinimo dan lepšim, da stvorimo nešto, da delamo istrajno, da se više smejemo, da više volimo…da živimo. Ne treba samo zaboraviti kako su male i dostupne stvari koje nas ushićuju i čine srećnijima.

Suknju sam sašila jer me uzbuđuje raspored linija u kariranom dezenu o čemu sam već pisala (ovde i ovde). Frizura je inspirisana neverovatno talentovanom pevačicom grupe FKA Twigs, koja zrači jednom svežom, hipnotišućom i inspirišućom energijom.

EN: Clothing items of simple, everyday patterns can become more interesting and eye-catching if there are some interesting prints. I love geometric prints, especially black and white, so I had to buy these fabrics. I chose the cardigan pattern to be simple and straight because of the bold fabric design,  but I could not resist to play a little bit and disrupt the regularity of the pattern with pockets and especially the self fabric tape on the neck and along the opening. As for the pattern of the shorts, I used an old brother’s shorts as a basis and adjusted it to the female figure. There are two small pleats in the front, and a elastic waist band, which makes this item very comfortable. This is perhaps the third or fourth such shorts that I have sewed. (One of them is in this post.) I also made this bucket bag of silver false leather, that I love insanely for its color and structure (it’s neither too firm nor too soft), and I’ve imagined about a million more other stuff that I could make of it. (In this post I have already said what silver color means to me and why I feel so good in it.) All three necklaces were made of polymer clay, which I discovered two years ago as a great fun. I haven’t used it for quite a time but now I’m coming back to this hobby again. I like so much the color of this T-shirt and it is the perfect tester for the color-blind  (is it blue or green?). It is an old boyfriend’s T-shirt, which now became mine, and I’ve cut its sleeves and a neckline, because I have a physical need to cut things. OK, I have finished  enumerating now, but forgive me for the stylistic clumsiness because of the fact that almost everything I wear is the work of my hands. Not that it was planed, things just matched like that…

SR: Odevni komadi jednostavnih, opuštenih krojeva postaju interesantniji i upečatljiviji ako su zanimljivog printa. Obožavam geometrijske printove, posebno crno-bele, tako da sam morala da imam ove materijale. Odabrala sam da kroj džempera bude što jednostavniji i ravan zbog krupnoće šara, ali nisam mogla da odolim da se malo ne poigram i ne poremetim njihovu pravilnost džepovima i posebno trakama na izrezima oko vrata i duž otvora. Što se tiče kroja šortsa, iskoristila sam bratov stari šorts za osnovni kroj i prilagodila ga ženskoj figuri. Napred ima dve male falte, i na lastiš je, zbog čega je jako udoban i nosiv. Ovo je možda treći-četvrti ovakav šorts koji sam sašila. (Jedan od njih je i u ovom postu.) Torbu sam, takođe, ja napravila od srebrne eko kože, koju neizmerno obožavam zbog boje i strukture (nije ni previše čvrsta ni previše mekana), i zamislila sam otprilike još milion stvari koje bih mogla od nje da sašijem. (U ovom postu sam već govorila šta sve srebrna boja za mene označava i zbog čega mi toliko prija.) Sve tri ogrlice sam napravila od plastelina za nakit, koji sam otkrila pre dve godine kao divnu zabavu. Duže vreme ga nisam uopšte koristila, ali sad se opet po malo vraćam i tom hobiju. Majica, čija boja mi se toliko sviđa, i koja je savršen tester za daltoniste (da li je plava il zelena?) je stara dečkova, a sad moja, kojoj sam isekla rukave i otvor oko vrata, jer imam fizičku potrebu da kasapim stvari. Ok, završila sam nabrajanje, al’ oprostićete stilsku neodmerenost teksta zbog činjenice da je skoro sve što nosim delo mojih ruku. Nije da je to bio plan, stvari su se jednostavno tako uklopile…
