new in the shop: visual optimism

EN: The string bag from the last post, that I have made more than a month ago, has received a lot of compliments and interest, so I have decided to make a mini collection of bags of the same design but bright combinations of colors, and now it’s done! Classic and modern, versatile but eye-catching, those bags are exactly what I imagine that bag for every day should look like. The design is original, it consists two sections, front pocket and a delicate, silver chain. What I like most about those bags, beside the practical design, are the real pastel colors of spring and summer, and that’s why I called this collection Visual optimism. SR: Torbica iz prošlog posta, koju sam napravila pre više od mesec dana, izazvala je puno pohvala i interesovanja, i zato sam odlučila da napravim jednu mini kolekciju istog modela u kombinacijama svetlih boja. Klasične, a moderne, jednostavne, a upečatljive, ove torbice su upravo ono kako ja zamišljam da torba za svaki dan treba da izgleda. Dizajn je originalan, sastoji se od dve pregrade, prednjeg džepa i delikatnog, srebrnog lanca. Ono što mi se najviše sviđa, pored praktičnog oblika su boje, prave prolećne i letnje, i zato sam ovu kolekciju nazvala Vizuelni optimizam. EN: Sewing is one way of getting to know the different possibilities of creative act, and the texts on this blog are an attempt to rationalize these intuitive and spiritual processes that precede and follow the very skills. This dress represents one of the possible forms of creative outlook on life, according to which things around us don’t exist only in one established order with its determined purposes, but can be seen apart from their surroundings with new values. In that way they are set free from their primal functions and have gained the ability to obtain a different purpose, to become something else, new and more beautiful. Thus, one decorative patch, which was connected to a table as its overlay, has become a key element of this dress and its power, fulfilling its potential more than if it has remained lying on the table. Мy boyfriend called this dress the modern cassock, but it represents a creative view of world far from dogma, where each thing, regardless of its primary purpose, can become part of one’s subjective experience, a sort of collage, a sort of artwork …

SR: Шивење је један од начина упознавања различитих могућности креативног остварења, а текстови на овом блогу су покушај рационализације тих интуитивних и духовних процеса, који претходе и прате саму вештину. Ова хаљина репрезентује један од могућих видова креативног погледа на свет, према коме ствари око нас не постоје само у једном утврђеном поретку са својим утврђеним наменама, већ се издвајају из околине и почињу да важе саме за себе. Тако се оне ослобађају примарних функција и стичу могућност да добију другачију намену, да постану нешто друго, ново и лепше.  EN: It is a saying that clothes does not make a man, but it certainly can make man happier. Colors and patterns that we are wearing can arouse emotions or remind us of somebody important, some beautiful day of our life, some unexpected meeting. I fell in love with this fabric as soon as I saw it because it tells a happy story that exists in my head as a song, because into song it was turned by a great ex-yu song writer from a famous band Azra: “I don’t sell a smiling dog. You can forget about it.The day before, while we were walking through the park, he introduced me to her.” Because of these lyrics this skirt becomes one of those small but precious things, which shouldn’t ever be underestimated because they have the power of carrying stories and experiences that really do make us happier. PS. I also sewn this sweatshirt. It is made of some fabric that we had in the house for nobody knows how long and that was used as a rug, until I grabbed it. I think that my mom will start to hide all the textiles from me.

SR: Kaže se da odelo ne čini čoveka, no ono ga sigurno može učiniti srećnijim. Boje, dezeni i krojevi koje nosimo bude u nama emocije ili nas podsećaju na neku važnu osobu, neki lep dan u našem životu, neočekivani susret. Zaljubila sam se u ovaj dezen čim sam ga ugledala zato što on priča priču, koja u mojoj glavi postoji u vidu pesme, jer ju je u pesmu pretvorio veliki pesnik Džoni Štulić: “Ne prodajem nasmiješenog psa. Zaboravi na to. Dan ranije, šećući kroz park, on me je upoznao s njom.” Ti stihovi čine ovu suknju jednom on onih malih i dragocenih stvari, koje nikad ne treba podcenjivati jer nose priče i doživljaje koji nas čine srećnijim. PS. Duksericu sam takodje sašila, i to od nekog materijala koji postoji u našoj kući ko zna koliko dugo i koji je služio kao pokrivač, dok nije dopao u moje ruke. Mislim da će moja mama početi da sakriva od mene sve što je tekstilno.
