rock it good

EN: I have designed and sewed this dress, which is a perfect expression of my current tendency towards simplicity with some interesting detail. This detail is always a consequence of the free creativity of the moment (initially, this dress was not supposed to have those details on the sides), and the search for personal taste and aesthetic experience. I think one of the greatest charms in designing and making your clothes is in this process of getting to know your own personality, in learning who we really are, what we see as beautiful, what our imagination is capable of, and where are its limits … A major challenge is to manage your technical skills to follow the spirit and create its ideas in praxis. It is in this gap where hides the potential for comprehending ourselves and progressing.

PS. The string bag is also my design that I’ve continued to develop and improve (photo below). From the same fabric of this powerful, but still delicate print I sewed a classic mid-length skirt for my shop. I just want to introduce it here, but I will present it in a separate post, when I take some close-up photos. Bracelets of false leather are also handmade (a five-minute DIY project).

SR: Ja sam dizajnirala i sašila ovu haljinu, koja je pravi izraz moje trenutne sklonosti ka jednostavnosti uparenoj sa nekim interesantnim detaljem. Taj detalj je uvek izraz trenutne slobodne kreativnosti (na početku haljina nije bila zamišljena sa ovakvim rešenjem na bočnim stranama), kao i traganja za ličnim ukusom i doživljajem estetskog. Mislim da je jedna od najvećih čari u smišljanju i pravljenju svoje odeće upravo u istraživanju sopstvene ličnosti, u učenju ko smo mi zapravo, šta osećamo kao lepo, za šta je u nekom trenutku naša mašta sposobna, a gde su joj granice… A veliki je izazov i svojim tehničkim sposobnostima pratiti duh i ostvaritit njegove ideje na praktičnom planu. Upravo u tom raskoraku je potencijal za samospoznavanje i napredak.

PS. Torbica je takođe moj dizajn koji sam nastavila da razrađujem i usavršavam (slika dole). Od osatatka ovog platna moćnog, a nenapadnog printa sašila sam i klasičnu suknju srednje dužine za prodavnicu, koju ovde samo najavljujem, a predstaviću je u posebnom postu, kad je fotografišem detaljnije. Narukvice od eko kože su, takođe, ručni rad tj. petominutni uradi-sam projekat.

silver harmony

EN: I am impressed by the silver color… For me it is the color that tranquilizes, that calms down our inner restlessness and impatience, the color that brings a deep wisdom, but wisdom that is intended for a man and that is not as sterile and inaccessible as wisdom of white. Silver has the power of preserving the passion in its calmness. I love how it goes with black which emphasizes its luster. I made a subtle folds to highlight the character of the fabric –  its ability to gather in its shimmer a whole spectrum of shades: from dark, through gray, to the glittering white… This skirt is like a liquid mirror, like moonlight in the solid state… Celebrating intellectual power of introspection, that is symbolized by the mirror, but at the same time saving our instincts, indicated by the moon, and summarizing the white and black in the light, this color represents a reconciliation of extremes, the wisdom of the life, the harmony itself.

SR: Očarava me srebrna boja… Za mene je to boja koja umiruje, koja stišava unutrašnje uznemirenosti i nestrpljenja, koja donosi neku duboku mudrost, ali mudrost koja je namenjena čoveku i koja nije onako sterilna i nedostupna kao mudrost bele boje. Srebrna boja ima moć da sačuva tinjajuću strast u svojoj mirnoći. Svidja mi se kako se uklapa sa crnom koja ističe njen sjaj. Napravila sam suptilne nabore na suknji da bi se više istakao karakter ovog materijala tj. njegova sposobnost da, presijavajući se, sabere u sebi čitav spektar nijansi od tamne, preko sive, do blještavo bele… Ova suknja je kao tečno ogledalo, kao mesečeva svetlost u čvrstom stanju… Slaveći intelktualnu moć intorospekcije, koju simboliše ogledalo, ali u isto vreme čuvajući nagone, koje označava mesec, sažimajući belo i crno u svetlost, razum i strast, ova boja predstavlja izmirenje krajnosti, mudrost života, harmoniju po sebi.
